It is evident that an energy transition is urgently needed. Traditionally, carbon taxes have been used to shift consumption towards more sustainable goods. However, recent global events, such as the "gilets jaunes" protests in France and strikes in Ecuador and Kazakhstan, have shown that consumers no longer accept this approach. One reason is that taxes often exacerbate social inequalities. This paper explores the efficiency of a new tool: government credits to eco-friendly enterprises, known as green bonds. The study employs a model to analyse how these bonds impact the overall economy and different types of households, including those who can be considered as rich and those who are poor.
