Cross Sample Divider

The cross sample divider is used for manual sample reduction of bulk particulate materials using the coning and quartering method. The material is thoroughly mixed, formed into a cone, and flattened into a circular layer. A cross-shaped divider separates the material into four approximately equal quarters. Two diagonally opposite quarters are combined, while the remaining two are discarded. This procedure is repeated until the required sample mass is obtained, with the aim of maintaining a representative sample composition.
