Bilinguality is a phenomenon frequently encountered in all countries, displaying various forms, each of them influencing the manner of communication as well as the cognitive function of the individuals. Perceived either as expressing the current use of two different languages by the same person, with emphasis on the degree of mastering the two different languages, or as a minimal competence in verbal skills, in a language that differs from an individual’s mother tongue, nonetheless, bilinguality may be a means enabling both linguistic identity and unity.
