There has been a huge discrepancy between personal interest in taking action against climate change and actual impact. Heavy-industry and engineering branches are still considered problems, not keys to solutions. However, engineering students play a crucial role in climate change mitigation and adaption. Education, student engagement and interdisciplinary networking need to be intensified immediately. In this Lecture, a shot is taken at communicating climate science basics and how to facilitate student engagement.
