Issuing the historical roots of sustainable consumption as well as different theories of sustainable consumption and production highlights that what we know as “green” consumption is not necessarily sustainable. Moreover, not everybody has access to “green” products, and the burden of acting responsibly is shifted from producers to consumers. Sarah holds a PhD in Human Ecology from Lund University, Sweden. As a human ecologist, she has a critical, social science perspective on sustainability. Her research focus is on the (un)sustainability of everyday practices, particularly food practices.
