The course “Laboratory methods for the study of ore minerals and digitalization of petrographic collections” resulted in the acquiring the skills in diagnosing ore minerals under a microscope for further assessment of the quality of ores, determination of their genesis, solving issues of technological mineralogy, selection of optimal mineral beneficiation schemes, as well as mastering modern methods of digitizing collections of polished sections and thin sections by the students.
The lecture and course was developed collaboratively between Dnipro University of Technology (Department of Geology and Mineral Prospecting) and TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Institut für Mineralogie).
