This video briefly explains the procedure used to determine the orientation matrix using the Kikuchi patterns. At the beginning, the basic orientation is determined by analysing the SAED patterns. Based on this knowledge, the coordinate systems (diffraction and image coordinate systems) are drawn on Kikuchi pattern and used for the determination of parameters (sample matrix or rotation matrices). The parameters can be used for the calculation of orientation matrices. Finally, the disorientation matrix or (disorientation angle/rotation axis) pair can be determined from them.
